Round 2.          Geometry — Solid geometry (volume and surface area)
Round 3.          Number Theory — Set theory; Venn diagrams
Round 4.          Arithmetic — Combinatorics and probability
Round 5.          Algebra — Solving quadratics with rational solutions, including word problems

Round 3.          Number Theory — Modular arithmetics; series and sequences
Round 4.          Arithmetic — Percent applications; percent change; compound interest
Round 5.          Algebra — Word problems (linear, including direct proportions or systems)

Round 1.                        Mystery
Round 2.                        Geometry — Properties of polygons; Pythagorean Theorem
Round 3.                        Number Theory — Bases; scientific notation
Round 4.                        Arithmetic — Integral powers (positive, negative, and zero); roots up to the sixth
Round 5.                        Algebra — Absolute value; inequalities in one variable, including interpreting line graphs

Round 2.                        Geometry — Area and perimeter of polygons
Round 3.                        Number Theory — GCF, LCM; prime factorization
Round 4.                        Arithmetic — Fractions; terminating and repeating decimals; percents
Round 5.                        Algebra — Word problems with one unknown; working with formulas; reasoning in number sentences

The IMLEM is a 5 meet developmental contest series for students in Grades 6-8.  Each round of the series focuses on specific topics that progress.  This series is REQUIRED for students in grades 7 and 8 in our Competition Team Development Program (CTDP) that meets from 1-3.  These rounds are scheduled immediately before practice.  Participants are welcome to bring their lunch with them.

Each meet includes five 10-minute rounds that have 3 questions each.

Round 1.Mystery
Round 2.Geometry — Angle measures in plane figures, including supplements and complements
Round 3.Number Theory — Divisibility rules; factors; primes and composites
Round 4.Arithmetic — Order of operations; mean, median, mode; rounding; statistics
Round 5.Algebra — Simplifying and evaluating expressions; solving equations with one unknown, including identities

We offered these as part of our MathRocks! series last year, however, as we are unable to offer them online anymore, they are not included this year. To make participation easier, this series of 6 contests will be offered immediately after the Team round of the on-site MathRocks! contest series (plus one in December that will be held stand alone as MathRocks! will not be offered that month).

Math League strives to build student interest and confidence in mathematics through solving worthwhile problems.
Your student will be participating with other students from schools all over the United States.

Awards: We will present ribbons for top monthly performers; CML will provide medals for top accumulative season performers.

Registration is for the series of 6 contests and is $45. Registration before October 9 is required to guarantee a spot.  After 10/9/2021, registrations will be limited to remaining spots.
